Is there really no cost to our organization?
Absolutely none. Every book, companion user-guide, facilitator guide, training video, and workshop is funded by Dynamic Learning Compassion's community of donors, sponsors, and partners. Your organization never pays a single dollar.
When will we receive the books?
Books are delivered within approximately 30 days once full funding is secured for your organization. Registering now places your organization on the list - the sooner you apply, the sooner you are funded when donations come in.
How is the book title selected?
We work with your team collaboratively to select the title that best fits the specific needs of the children in your community. You are never given a random book - the selection is intentional and done together.
How many books does our organization receive?
Your organization will receive one high quality hardcover social-emotional learning book per child - completely free. You may choose multiple titles across your organization to best meet the diverse needs of the children you serve. If your organization would like additional books beyond the funded quantity, you have the option to purchase additional copies at wholesale cost through Dynamic Learning Press.
What are the workshop and who delivers it?
Your organization selects one whole-community experience - either an Interactive Reading, Educational or Social-Emotional Learning Workshop. It is a one-time event for your entire student body or program, not individual classrooms or groups.
Workshops are facilitated by Ashley P. Mangione - founder of Dynamic Learning Compassion, educator, counselor, author, and executive functioning expert with over 30 years of experience working with children, teens, and families. Ashley brings the books she authored to life through engaging, meaningful experiences designed to spark the conversations that help children grow. Details are coordinated with your team after registration.
What does our staff receive?
Teachers and organizational leaders receive a Facilitator Guide, and a virtual training video walking them through the guide, and a professional development workshop - everything needed to continue supporting children's social-emotional growth long after the books arrive.
Are the leadership workshops and video training required to participate in the program?
No. The leader video training, children's workshop, and leadership workshop are all optional. We encourage every partner organization to schedule them within 120 days of delivery - they are what turn a book into a lasting learning experience.
How do we access the training videos?
Training videos are accessed through the Dynamic Learning Compassion website portal. Once your books are delivered, your designated team leader will receive a secure access code to share with your staff. Videos can be viewed at any time, at your own pace, within 120 days of delivery.
Who should watch the training videos?
Any adult leader who will be using the Facilitator Guide with children - teachers, counselors, social workers, coaches, and caregivers. We encourage every adult working directly with the children receiving books to watch the training before facilitating conversations.
Do we need to be a 501(c)(3) to qualify?
Schools, pediatric hospitals, and foster care programs do not need to be separately registered nonprofits. Qualifying youth-serving community organizations must hold 501(c)(3) status with a mission directly serving children in underserved communities.
What if we are not in the Charlotte, NC region?
Our base is in Charlotte and expanding into South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Texas, New York, and Arizona. If your organization is outside these areas, register anyway - we want to know where the need is as we grow our reach.
